Course Title:
Which Bible Should I Use? A Study in Bible Translations
Course Description:
The purpose of the “Which Bible Should I Use?” seminar is to allow participants to make their own informed decision as to what Bible they consider best for their purposes. The class is divided into three main parts. First, we will examine the current landscape of English Bible translation, many of which may be hidden or unknown. Second, we will look at textual criticism as it relates to the original language texts found in the footnotes in the Bible and related to the Greek versions from which are translated the New Testament. Third, we will discuss modern English Bible translations, with a focus on the current top seven bestsellers. This study should provide every Christian wisdom and peace as they read, study, and memorize from their chosen Bible.
