The book of Proverbs is such a treasure of wisdom on living how God wants us to. Last night we studied ch 11 – starting with the premise that you CAN live a righteous life. What do you think? Do you believe that you can? How is this possible??
Yes Catie, I think what we are talking about is the same thing. Only by God’s grace & daily surrender to Him can we walk in the light & live righteously. And I agree – it is a scary thing to claim, “I live righteously!” But assuming we are coming from a place of brokenness, I feel like God is encouraging us with the possibilities to live godly lives. Romans 12:1-2 day by day!
I don’t think anyone wants to say “YES, I can live a righteous life” because we are so aware of our own sin. But, I think this is a great question. We were talking about walking in the light (1 John 1) today at ladies Bible study. Is walking in the light the same as living a righteous life?
